- Dee Dee Abdur-Rahim and her husband Shareef are well known for their community outreach in Sacramento, especially their work with children. But until this year, Dee Dee did not know how important it is for all children to get vaccinated against influenza. In fact, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has expanded its recommendations for annual pediatric vaccination to include all children 6 months-18 years of age.1
“When I spoke with my doctor, she said that because my son Jabri has asthma, he is much more vulnerable to developing serious complications from influenza. I made sure he got his flu shot after that conversation,” Dee Dee said. “My whole family will get vaccinated every year from now on.”
