Mark Williams, MD - Pulmonary Disease Specialist, American Lung Association Board Member
Mark Williams, MD, sees many "faces" of influenza on a daily basis as everyone 6 months of age and older is recommended for annual influenza immunization by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.1,2 As an expert in lung health, Dr. Williams knows influenza is a serious disease and recommends his patients get vaccinated every year. However, one year due to a heavy workload, he missed his office’s vaccination clinic. He didn’t get a flu shot, and ended up contracting influenza. As a result of his illness, Dr. Williams is more committed than ever to reminding people about the importance of getting vaccinated. He has joined the American Lung Association’s Faces of Influenza campaign to encourage others, including fellow health-care professionals, to be immunized to help protect themselves, their patients, and loved ones from the influenza virus.
